Community Update #6

Pardon our Intermission

Hello neighbors, we hope everyone is staying safe and well. This will be a quick update with more information coming very soon. Covid-19 and closing issues created challenging obstacles for our progress, but we are still moving forward. We wanted to let everyone know that we closed on the acquisition of the assemblage in July and are moving forward with the replat, design, and final entitlements needed for the project.

The Georgia Department of Transportation and City of Atlanta Public Works are also currently under construction with the intersection realignment of Glenwood Ave and Moreland Ave. This timing works well for our project and we hope they will be mostly complete by the time we start construction.

Our goal is to get through all remaining zoning and permitting by the end of the year and break ground by early next year. Construction of the 42 units of affordable housing and all of the site work will commence as soon as we get the building permit. The commercial portion of the project is currently for lease and will commence in phases as the buildings are pre-leased. For leasing information, please click here.

We will be coming back through the neighborhood associations and NPU meetings to provide more details and obtain the final variances and tweaks needed to make the design concept a reality. We will also send out blog posts with additional updates as they come available.

If you have any specific questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact us directly. Thank you all for your patience on this journey and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Sincerely,

The 525 Moreland Team
